The Internet 800 Directory Announces Spanish Version
ALBUQUERQUE, NM -- October, 2000 -- /Xpress Press/ -- Digital
Information and Network Co., Inc., which created the definitive toll free
directory on the Internet, announced today that it has developed a Spanish
language version of the Internet 800 Directory, http://gotollfree.com. This
valuable business tool, which attracts millions of users, can also be found
at www.800Espanol.com.
US domestic toll free numbers, which include 800, 888, 877 and the newly
released 866 prefix, have grown to over 22 million and at a rate exceeding
320,000 new issues per month. The Internet 800 Directory provides free
listings and searches by company name, business category, toll free number
and by state. The Internet 800 Directory has experienced a significant
increase in international traffic, due to the incredible growth of Internet
telephony and website use of toll free numbers for electronic commerce.
"The Hispanic and Spanish-speaking usage of our site has grown
exponentially, as has the growth of Hispanic-oriented web sites, domestic
and international Spanish-speaking population and buying power, " said
Steven A. Jackson, CEO of DIANCO. "With the new Spanish version of the
directory, viewers and callers can access a US domestic toll free number,
whether they are Latino, Hispanic, Spanish or use a combination of English
and Spanish. This provides the companies listed within the directory to be
more accessible to this important market."
In addition, callers from outside the US are now able to dial a US toll
free number via internet telephony, whereas before they were generally
unable to do so. 84% of Internet users rely on electronic media to search
for product or service information in order to make a purchase. Companies
display toll free numbers on their sites because most customers prefer to
call a toll free phone number when it is time to buy.
